The locale: Without umbrellas and sunbeds, the beach is ideal for a quick dip for those who insist on keeping within a safe distance from the Chora. The lack of organization is due to the north winds which pound it mercilessly, although it’s this northerly orientation which makes it ideal for windsurfing. It boasts a traditional little taverna for the necessary sustenance (Joanna’s Niko’s Place, tel. 22890 24251).

One of the island’s best organized beaches and a favourite with Greek high society visitors with a strong cosmopolitan feel. It covers every entertainment and taste expectation and all this on a long blonde sandy beach with green-blue, clear water, abundant umbrellas and sunbeds, beach bars, watersports and many happenings.

Mykonos’ most bountiful beach offers everything in abundance: easy parking, nice sunbeds, clear water, satisfactory service (at the bar-restaurants Elia, tel. 22890 71204 and Capelayo, tel. 22890 72002), and beautiful people. It is the island’s best known gay-friendly beach. Its strong point is the music which maintains a safe distance from the sunbeds.

Facing Naxos and with colours ranging from pale emerald to deep blue, the image of this beach on the south side of the island successfully introduces its characteristics; calm, low key setting and endless relaxation. The sunbeds are separated by large empty sections for those who wish to enjoy the sand.
