Platis Gialos

Protected and beautiful, with numerous hotels around the beach and several restaurants, Platis Gialos is intensely developed but in a positive way. Its big plus is its sporty character, it is one of the island’s hottest beaches although if there’s a south wind things get a little difficult.
The locale: Some call it touristy, others family and others still a sports beach. However you describe Platis Gialos you’ll be right. It has endless opportunities for sports with the Blindside Watersports school being the main focus point for sports enthusiasts. The GlassBottom Discovery, a boat with a glass bottom from which one can admire Mykonos’ marine landscape, visits remote destinations around the island and promises to make your holiday unforgettable (Glassbottom, tel. 6944 427973). Among the restaurants, Bonazza is one of the island’s best (tel. 22890 28048) as is last year’s arrival Avli tou Thodori (taverna, tel. 22890 78100). The sea is usually calm and very clean. To top everything, masseurs circulate on the beach.
