Aghios Ioannis

English
Body:

Another Delos close-up from one of the island’s relaxed spots with magnificent sea, golden sand and sun until late in the afternoon. Later, the sunset – made famous by the film Shirley Valentine – is simply stunning. The existence of comprehensive hotel units in the area give the beach a discreet cosmopolitan feel, while among foreign tourists one will also find locals, Greeks and some ex-pats.
The locale: For fresh seafood and fish follow the groups of locals who frequent the small tavernas and restaurants, while the Hippie Fish Sushi bar (22890 23547), supplements the seafood delicacies with a hint of Japan. The beach of Agios Giannis, protected from both north and south winds, is ideal for a relaxed and quiet all day at the sea. The beach is divided in two by some gentle rocks while the pebbly sand which in some parts turns into very fine pebble is perfect for natural reflexology. Among the beach’s pluses is the interesting seabed, ideal for snorkeling, while its minuses include difficult to find parking.

Tip Value:
Necessary accessory: snorkel and flippers for exploring the seabed. For more privacy go the end of the right side of the beach.
